Accused Judge Killer Screams At Trial Judge

Compiled From Wire Services

A man accused of killing a federal judge with a mail bomb screamed insults at the judge overseeing his murder trial Friday.

“I don’t see how you sleep at night!” Walter Leroy Moody Jr. yelled at Circuit Judge William Rhea during a hearing before the jury was picked.

Rhea, who set opening statements for Tuesday, asked Moody how he planned to behave once testimony got under way.

“Judge, there’s going to be a lot of outbursts,” Moody said.

As a result, Rhea said Moody would be confined in a small room with speakers and a window looking into the courtroom.
