Obituaries

John Kosar Spokane

No service will be held for John Kosar, 79. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kosar, a 20-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

He was born in Yonkers, N.Y.

He worked as a truck driver for many years in the scrap metal industry and retired from Pacific Iron Co. in 1970.

He was a member of Teamsters Union No. 174, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He is survived by a brother, William Kosar of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a sister, Ann Fairhurst of Brewster, N.Y.

Nettie Race Chewelah, Wash.

Service for Nettie Mae Race, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah. Burial will be at Chewelah Memorial Park.

Mrs. Race, who died Friday, was born in Yakima and moved to Chewelah from Brewster, Wash., 12 years ago.

She was a member of the Northside Homemakers Club and attended the Free Methodist Church.

Her husband, Alvah, died in 1984.

She is survived by three daughters, Alice Moore of Chewelah, Alva Perryman of Republic, Wash., and Faye Race of Ocean Park, Wash.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bernard Finegold Spokane

Graveside service for Bernard D. Finegold, 88, will be at 1:45 p.m. today at Mount Nebo Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Finegold, who was born in Canada, died Friday.

He had lived in Spokane for more than 51 years and worked as a manager at Alaska Steel.

He was a member of Temple Beth Shalom for more then 50 years and B’Nai B’rith.

His wife, Esther Finegold, died in 1995.

Mr. Finegold is survived by two daughters, Linda Goldman of Plano, Texas, and Barbara Hockfeld of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Morris Finegold of Seattle; three sisters, Fannie Feinberg and Sybl Handlin, both of Seattle, and Ethel Michaelson of Everett; and three grandchildren.
