Sponsoring Nature
National parks
We used to say there were only two things people couldn’t avoid - death and taxes.
Now there are three. No matter where you live or what you do, you cannot avoid advertising.
You can find ads in restrooms and waiting rooms and on coffee mugs, calendars, pencils - virtually anything with space enough for a logo. Even people have become human billboards, walking around with company logos on our pants, shirts, caps, socks and shoes.
There is a proposal coming before Congress that would allow corporate sponsorship of national parks.
That’s right, friends, you might someday be able to spend a vacation in beautiful Frito-Lay Yellowstone Park, where you can see Maytag’s Old Faithful. Then you can take a side trip to the fascinating Pillsbury Grand Canyon.
