Candidates Forum Set For Pullman
Political candidates for state and Whitman County offices will make their pitches and take questions Monday at a candidates forum in Pullman.
The forum will be held from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the public meeting room at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, NE 2350 Hopkins Court. The lab is in the Port of Whitman Industrial Park, on the northeast edge of Pullman, off state Highway 27.
The forum includes Democrats challenging U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt, candidates for the state Senate and House of Representatives, and all eight candidates vying for two Whitman County Commission seats.
The forum is sponsored by the Pullman branch of the American Association of University Women, Pullman Chamber of Commerce and Pullman League of Women Voters. Karen Kiessling, president of the Pullman league and former Pullman mayor, will moderate.
