Scandal Hits Usa Boxing

A U.S. Olympic Committee audit uncovered numerous instances of misappropriated grant money by USA Boxing from 1991 to 1996, the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph reported.

While the audit isn’t complete, early figures point to USA Boxing’s misapplication of more than $2 million in USOC grants, the newspaper said.

Word of the irregularities surfaced Wednesday when USA Boxing mailed a memorandum to its board of governors informing it of the situation.
