Perot To Name Running Mate

Ross Perot will announce his vice presidential running mate tonight - during a 30-minute TV ad. Then the No. 2 pick will introduce himself on Perot’s favorite forum, “Larry King Live.”

Perot said Monday that his vice presidential choice “has the background, experience and the qualifications” to serve. But he wouldn’t give any hints about who it might be.

Perot had said he would announce a running mate soon after Labor Day. But he reportedly has been turned down by several potential choices.

The broadcast of his infomercial, which already has been taped, will be shown at 8 p.m. on KREM Channel 2 in Spokane.
