Nwl Giants Eye Move

Compiled From Wire Services

Officials in Keize, Ore., are close to striking a deal that would move the Bellingham Giants of the Northwest League to the Willamette Valley city.

The city has scheduled a public meeting Thursday on a plan to build a stadium that would be ready for the team by next June.

Bellingham, a short-season Class A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, finished last in the Northwest League in attendance last season, averaging 1,345 fans for its 36 home games.
