Jesse Detrick Spokane
Service for Jesse J. Detrick, 82, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church in Newberg, Ore. Interment will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Detrick, who was born in Yoder, Colo., died Saturday.
He worked during World War II as an airplane mechanic in Spokane. He later worked for several automotive firms. Mr. Detrick was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
His first wife, Pauline, died in 1989.
He is survived by his wife of two years, Tena; a son, Ron Detrick of Tacoma; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Harry Maier Spokane
Service for Harry Maier, 69, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home.
Born in Ritzville, Wash., he died Tuesday.
He worked as a conductor and brakeman for Burlington Northern Railroad for 35 years.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 2.
Survivors include his wife since 1991, Alys; a son, Harry Maier of Spokane; a daughter, Teresa Bush of Spokane; four stepsons, Darrin Hendericson of Alaska, and Robert, Richard and Randy Brickner; two stepdaughters, Cindy Ochoa of Spokane and Renee Wolbert; a brother Ruben Maier of Ritzville; a sister, Lillian Melton of Spokane; five grandchildren and 10 stepgrandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Cancer Society or Hospice of Spokane.
Roy Gant Spokane
A private memorial for Roy E. Gant, 49, was held Monday at New Life Missionary Church. Burial will be held in Shreveport, La., at a later date. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gant, a 19-year resident of Spokane, died Sept. 4.
He worked as a caretaker in an adult care home.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Maleka; a son, Ron Gant of Los Angeles; and two daughters, Angela and Sherry.
Tanya Pugsley Hayden Lake
Service for Tanya L. Pugsley, 50, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries.
Ms. Pugsley, who was born in Reno, Nev., died Tuesday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Pinehurst, Idaho.
She had lived in Oregon before moving to St. Maries in 1959, graduating from St. Maries High School in 1964. She went on to attend nurse training at Cook County Medical Center in Chicago, where she received her registered nurse degree.
Ms. Pugsley worked as a medical missionary in Pakistan for two years before returning to the St. Maries area, where she worked for Benewah Community Hospital and Valley Vista Care Center.
She later moved to Osburn, Idaho, and continued working in the nursing profession.
She moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1987 and worked for Coeur d’Alene Convalescent Center. She was recently employed at Kootenai Medical Center and the Panhandle Health District.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Coeur d’Alene and was an alumna and leader of 4-H programs.
Survivors include her son, Lee Yum Tae Sup Pugsley, at home; a foster son, Keith Poppin of Hayden Lake; her mother, Jane Buchanan of St. Maries; her father, John Pugsley of Oregon; and three sisters, Evelyn Vineyard of Priest River, Idaho, Phoebe Falkner of Everett and Larri Ann Buchanan of Newport, Wash.

Florinda White Spokane
Service for Florinda M. White, 80, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hennessey-Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. White, who was born in Santa Fe, N.M., died Monday.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many organizations.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Hammond Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond White; three sons, Virgil Smith of Carmichael, Calif., Alfred Smith of Pendelton, Ore., and David Smith of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Verna Walter of Tempe, Ariz., and Alva Smith of Medical Lake; two sisters, Carmen Fajardo of Vancouver, Wash., and Molly Martinez of Santa Fe, N.M.; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Virginia Carrier Spokane
Graveside service for Virginia R. Carrier, 77, will be at 11 a.m. today at Holy Cross Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, she died Monday.
She was a graduate of Marycliff High School and worked as an office manager in retail sales businesses.
She is survived by three sisters, Lucille Bergin of Spokane, and Mary Phillips and Elena Ferrea, both of San Francisco.
Mary Brickner Spokane
Service for Mary F. Brickner, 63, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Brickner, who was a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Tuesday.
She was employed at Hillyard Seafirst Bank as a secretary for six years and All Saints Catholic Elementary School for 26 years.
Mrs. Brickner was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Gene; a son, Christopher Brickner of Lynwood, Wash.; a daughter, Kimberly Cunningham of Beaverton, Ore.; her stepmother, Marie Johnson of Spokane; a sister, Marilyn Capener of Orinda, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Helena Knorr Spokane
Service for Helena E. Knorr, 92, will be at 10 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Knorr, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Tuesday.
Mrs. Knorr and her husband, Adolph, founded Upriver Greenhouse in 1929 and operated it until 1963.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Knorr, Laurence Knorr and Herman Knorr, all of Spokane; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Patricia Hendrickson Spokane
Visitation for Patricia F. Hendrickson, 61, will be from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Charlo, Mont., with a rosary service to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at noon at St. Joseph’s. Burial will follow at the Ronan Cemetery in Ronan, Mont. Shrider’s Mortuary in Ronan, Mont. is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hendrickson, who was born in Polson, Mont., died Tuesday.
She was a graduate of Charlo High School and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for several years.
Mrs. Hendrickson was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, C.H. Hendrickson; two sons, Darryl Henderickson of Polson, Mont., and Dan Hendrickson of Chattaroy, Wash.; two daughters, Debra Becker of Atlanta and Dayna Ayers of Reno, Nev.; three brothers, Ray Wall of Polson, Mont., Ronnie Wall of Charlo, Mont. and Louie Wall of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Francis Weeks Spokane

Mr. Weeks, who was born in Coeur d’ Alene, died Tuesday.
He served in the Army in World War II.
Mr. Weeks worked for the Postal Service until his retirement.
He was a member of Garland Avenue Alliance Church, the Retired Postal Employees Association, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 6.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi; two daughters, Jennifer Christianson of Deer Park and Janet Judd of Colville, Wash.; a son, Paul Weeks of Spokane; and seven grandchildren.
Mark Cleghorn Clarkston, Wash.
No service will be held for Mark Cleghorn, 76, at his request. Mountain View Funeral Home in Lewiston is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Cleghorn, who was born in Barry, Wash., died Thursday.
He married Doris Dougherty Tripp in 1949 and worked as a rancher until his retirement in 1972. They moved to Clarkston in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; a son, Lou Cleghorn of Lewiston; a daughter, Kay Henley of Sacramento, Calif.; a stepson, Laurence Tripp of Spokane; a brother, Milton Cleghorn of Spokane; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Gary Fowler Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Gary W. Fowler, 52, will be today at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Mr. Fowler, who was born in Omak, Wash., died Tuesday.
He was raised and educated in Republic, Wash., graduating from high school there. He served in the Navy from 1964-70 and later attended Eastern Washington University and received his bachelor’s degree in business.
Mr. Fowler went on to work as a federal mine inspector for 19 years.
He was a member of Coeur d’Alene Elks Lodge No. 1254, Post Falls Eagles Aerie No. 3682 and the Post Falls American Legion Post.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna; a son, David Fowler of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Carol Stoddard of Post Falls and Julie Gilmore of Indiana; a stepdaughter, Karen Schnabl of Montana; his parents, Lee and Helen Fowler of Republic, Wash.; a sister, Carol Mager of Republic; and eight grandchildren.

Timothy Standar Palouse, Wash.
Service for Timothy K. Standar, 46, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Federated Church in Palouse, Wash. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse with military honors. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Standar, who was born in Pullman, died Sunday.
He graduated from Pullman High School. He then enlisted in the Army and later in the Army Reserve. Mr. Standar worked as a carpenter in Pullman and later became selfemployed and owned his own company, T.S. Construction in Palouse.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; a son, Joseph Standar of Viola, Idaho; a brother, Jerry Standar of Palouse; and two sisters, Judy McMurray and Janet Cooper, both of Pullman.

Betty Sander Spokane

Mrs. Sander, who was born in Potlatch, Idaho, died Tuesday.
Mrs. Sander worked for the city of Spokane as a secretary and she was a member of Christ Gospel Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Sander of Spokane; three sons, William, Douglas and Michael Sander, all of Spokane; two sisters, Carol Estes and Joyce Jones, both of Spokane; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Reinhold ‘Pete’ Manskey III Spokane
Memorial service for Reinhold F. “Pete” Manskey III will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Mr. Manskey, who was born in Sandusky, Ohio, died Monday.
He served in the Marine Corps and worked as a civilian meat cutter at Fairchild Air Force Base.
He was a member of Horton-Strength Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3386.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sheila; two sons, Mark Manskey of Texas and Keith Manskey of Wenatchee; five daughters, Marcie Kopplin, Kay Curtis and Maurneen Orndorff, all of Spokane, Julie Knowles of Wenatchee and Cathy Williamson of Airway Heights; and 17 grandchildren.

Robert Howe Spokane

Born in Plaza, N.D., he died Monday.
Mr. Howe was a graduate of Plaza High School and served in the Army in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He later owned and operated Howe Siding and Window Co.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 5926 in Moses Lake.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years Nancy; a son, Michael Bennett of Spokane; two daughters, Diania Matson-Kincaid of Spokane and Karia Schlosser of Deer Park; a brother, Alton Howe of Minneapolis; and six grandchildren.
Roy Morris Spokane
Visitation for Roy E. Morris, 65, will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Morris, who was born in Smithers, W.Va., died Tuesday.
He was a 14-year veteran of the Air Force and retired from Bayliner in 1989.
Mr. Morris was a member of the Suncrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ruth; four sons, Paul Morris of Wenatchee, Edward and Glendon Morris, both of Spokane, and Roy Morris of Buckley, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Jeanine Daubel of Spokane; two brothers, Carl Morris of Mount Nebo, W.Va., and Darrell Morris of Norfold, Va.; seven sisters, Rozella Hamric of Circleville, Ohio, Loretta Green of Washington, Pa., Bernita Taylor of Clifton Forge, Va., Freda Workman of Charleston, W.Va., Karen Fugate of Rupert W.Va., Margie Boon of North Carolina and Mary Collins of Dublin, Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Culp Sr. Spokane

He worked for Northwest Bolt and Nut Co. of Seattle as a machinist and sales representative, retiring in 1982.
He is survived by three sons, Steve Culp of Seattle, Terry Culp of Spokane and Kenneth Culp Jr. of Algona, Wash.; a daughter, Deann Powell of Seattle; two stepdaughters, Pat Wood and Bobbie Wilson, both of Spokane; a sister, Cora Sims of Kingston, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
