Strug Joins Ice Capades

Gold medalist Kerri Strug, whose gritty determination provided high drama in the Olympics, will be featured in Ice Capades gymnastics sequences this fall.

Strug, 18, will join “The Magic of MGM” in a variety show that includes skaters, gymnasts and bungee jumpers.

She will be featured as a solo performer in a sequence devoted to America’s favorite sports, then again in the show’s closing number.

The tour schedule will not conflict with Strug’s school schedule; she enters UCLA as a freshman this month.

Although the Ice Capades will tour 64 cities, plans are for Strug to appear only in 10 major markets.
