Allen Iverson, the NBA’s top draft pick, officially joined the Philadelphia 76ers with a stroke of a quill pen and a promise to help shepherd in better days for one of the league’s worst teams.

Iverson said he felt good about the upcoming season, even though the 76ers finished 18-64 last season.

“All my life I’ve been put in tough situations, and this is just another one of them,” he said. The 6-foot guard reportedly will receive the maximum allowed under the rookie salary cap - $9.38 million over three years.
