Mary Hay Spokane
Service for Mary A. Hay, 68, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Starr Road Baptist Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hay, who was born in Tulsa, Okla., died Sunday.
She worked as a certified nurse’s assistant for 26 years at the Sunshine Gardens Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Starr Road Baptist Church.
Her husband, Irvin, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Aubrey and Delbert Hay, both of Spokane, Dennis Hay of Post Falls and Irvin Hay Jr. of Virginia; a daughter, Oleta Cook of Greenacres; two brothers, Hubert and Larry Harris, both of Spokane; two sisters, Bertie of California and Ruth of New Hampshire; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Philip Corbit Spokane
Service for Philip C. Corbit, 69, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of the arrangements.
Born in Canada, Mr. Corbit died Sunday.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Washington State University. He served in World War II in the Army and later operated the Corbit Equipment Co. He was a management consultant for several different companies around the area.
He was a member of Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his two sons, Fred Corbit of Seattle and Wayne Corbit of Portland; and two grandchildren.
Wayne Cramer Newport, Wash.
Service for Wayne E. Cramer, 61, will be Friday at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport.
Born in Grand Junction, Colo., Mr. Cramer died Friday.
He graduated from Cusick (Wash.) High School and later served in the Air Force Reserve during the Korean War.
He worked for 25 years in the construction industry in Alaska and operated a restaurant.
Survivors include a son, Nathaniel Cramer of Alaska; four daughters, Sherry Wallis of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tina Southern, Patty Cayton and Becky Bauer, all of Usk, Wash.; and two sisters, Rita Howe of Newport and Rose Doupe of Richland.
Katherine (von Oven) Mead Lake Oswego, Ore.
Service for Katherine R. (von Oven) Mead, 82, will be held at a later date. Internment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park at a later date. Hennessey, Goetsch and McGee Funeral Home in Portland is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Mead, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and later worked for Westminster Congregational Church and Ferris High School as a bookkeeper.
Mrs. Mead was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Arborettes Garden Club.
Her husband, Clayton Mead, died in 1992.
Survivors include her son, Gene Mead of Missoula; a daughter, Sherry Finnigan of Lake Oswego, Ore.; and five grandchildren.
John Wright Newport, Wash.
Service for John H. Wright, 81, was Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Priest River, Idaho. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport was in charge of the arrangements.
Born in Franklin County, Mr. Wright died Friday.
He worked as an explosives expert on construction and retired from Diamond International in 1974.
Mr. Wright was a member of the Newport Eagles, Over-the-Hill Gang and the Senior Citizens Center in Newport.
His wife, Arlene, died in 1987.
He is survived by two daughters, Julia Van Prooyen of Vancouver, Wash., and Norma Bonneau of Portland; a brother, Charlie Wright of Pasco; a sister, Clara Burden of Deer Lake; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Newport Senior Center.
