Audubon Park Methodist Holding Fall Golf Tournament At Esmeralda
Audubon Park United Methodist Church is organizing a fall golf tournament to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Esmeralda.
There is no charge for the tournament, but participants are required to pay the $18 greens fee. The tournament is open to men and women of all ages. Participants must register in advance by calling the church office at 325-4541.
Audubon Park, at 3908 N. Driscoll Blvd., is also starting two new adult education classes. A Bible study class for women is offered Monday nights as an alternative to Monday Night Football. The classes are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and use the book “Do What You Have the Power to Do,” by Helen Bruch Pearson, which covers six women of the New Testament.
The class is free, but participants are required to pay $8.95 for the book. Child care is available on request.
A new class, “Understanding Your Teenager” will be offered Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., beginning Sept. 29. The free class will cover a variety of parenting issues. Child care will be available for children up to age five and older children may attend Sunday school classes.

Welcome home dinner
Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Road, is having a baked potato supper to welcome back church members who participated in summer mission trips. The dinner will be Sunday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Groups that will give a 15-minute presentation on their experiences include the junior and senior high groups, church members who worked in Alaska, and members who traveled to Kenya to assist Presbyterian churches.

Single mothers gather
Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive, is the meeting place of a singlemother support group sponsored by the Single Parent Outreach Connection. The first meeting will be Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The group will cover parenting and economic issues unique to single mothers. Participants are welcome to come early and take part in the church’s community night dinner that starts at 5:30. The dinner is $4 for adults and $2 for children two and older.
Child care will be provided during the class, which is free. Participants will decide on a permanent meeting schedule at Tuesday’s meeting. For additional information on the support group, call the church office at 325-6383.
