August Sets Record At Spokane Airport

Spokane International Airport experienced its 51st consecutive month of passenger traffic growth in August, and established the highest one-month passenger total in the airport’s history.

The airport handled 326,431 passengers during the month, a 5.9 percent increase over August, 1995, when 308,286 passengers got on or off airplanes there.

Thus far during 1996, 2,223,896 passengers have traveled through the airport, a 13.9 percent increase over the first eight months of 1995.

The airport saw a 25 percent increased in cargo handled over August 1995, and a 17 percent increase in cargo during the first eight months of the year.

At Felts Field, the cargo activity is up 16 percent for the month and 9.5 percent for the year to date. , DataTimes
