Alex Zulle of Switzerland held his overall lead in the Tour of Spain at Zaragoza as Dmitri Konyshev of Russia won the day’s stage.

UCLA’s quest to absolve last season’s disappointing basketball finish took a blow when the university announced that freshman recruit Rico Hines would not be admitted for the 1996-97 school year.
