WSU 14, San Jose State 0 Chad Carpenter 22-yard pass from Leaf, Truant kick. 49-yard drive in six plays, 1:48. On third-and-14 from the WSU 47, Leaf finds Carpenter for 14 yards. Two plays later, Leaf finds Kevin McKenzie for 17 to the SJSU 22.

Second quarter
