Idaho To Collect Farm Pesticides

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Idaho Department of Agriculture will collect unusable agricultural pesticides in North Idaho in May.

The program takes unwanted pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and rodenticides. Only agricultural formulations will be accepted. There is a 1,000-pound limit per person. Other waste, such as paint, motor oil and solvents will not be accepted. People who wish to dispose of unwanted pesticides must pre-register by April. Contact the Kootenai County Extension Office or the Idaho Department of Agriculture.

The Idaho Department of Agriculture also will begin disposing of empty pesticide containers this year. People are being asked to contact the agency to help it determine how many containers it will have to deal with.

To contact the department, call (208) 332-8616.
