Illegal Boat Parking To Skyrocket In Cost
Illegal boat parking will cost considerably more this summer and City Park visitors will have a longer line to buy a snow cone.
The Coeur d’Alene City Council voted to allow the parking patrol to ticket both car and boat trailer if they are parked more than two hours in downtown parking spaces.
That could amount to $60 a day in fines. Downtown merchants want the spaces open to shoppers.
The council also chose not to seek more bids for food vendors near City Beach when none came forward for the five spots available.
City officials said the potential vendors were holding out for lower prices. Now the only concessionaire at City Beach will be Gordon Andrea’s Fun-tastic Foods. Andrea has a leased spot at Independence Point.
The council also approved $8,100 in emergency repairs to a storm sewer line near the U.S. Highway 95 bridge over the Spokane River.
