Five former Rhode Island football players were sentenced to community service and banned from college sports for a year for taking part in an attack on a campus fraternity house. The five could have been sent to jail for up to a year.

At Plantation, Fla., heavyweight boxer Donovan “Razor” Ruddock has been released from the Broward County Jail after being arrested on a robbery charge.

Ruddock, 33, was booked Tuesday after turning himself in on an arrest warrant that was issued March 17, according to Plantation police.

At Laguna Niguel, Calif., former Los Angeles Raiders and Southern California quarterback Todd Marinovich has been charged with felony marijuana cultivation and two drug-related misdemeanors.

Marinovich, 27, was arrested March 24 after he called 911 from his Dana Point home to report a friend was unconscious there.
