Golden Brush Award

Winner of the Golden Brush Award for the first quarter of 1997 is Charles Castleman of Spokane.

Castleman has been a frequent and welcome contributor of Your Views cartoons on the Roundtable page. His work is elegant and simple, with a humor that is both gentle and effective. The first-class quality of his drawings ranks with the best syndicated cartoons on these pages. The example above is typical of his work. The Golden Brush award was established to recognize outstanding examples of reader-contributed artwork. A selection is made each calendar quarter. The winner received a Cross gold-tipped fountain pen.
