Cooler Not Better

For years, doctors believed that surgery was best done in cool confines, often with a reduction in the body temperature of patients.

But a new study shows patients whose temperature is normal have a 55 percent lower risk of heart attack after surgery. The study appears in today’s Journal of the American Medical Association.
