Boxer Gets Big Judgment

Compiled From Wire Services

A jury awarded boxer Vinny Pazienza $926,000 for injuries he suffered from a 1991 automobile collision. With interest, the total amount is $1,526,961.31.

But Pazienza may have to resume legal action to receive any of the award. Everett Petronio, Pazienza’s lawyer, said he does not know of Pazienza’s plans.

Kurt Reader of West Warwick, R.I., the driver of the vehicle in which Pazienza was a passenger when he was injured, has defaulted for not answering the complaint, and was found negligible. Reader did not retain a lawyer and did not appear during the civil trial.
