Man Critically Injured In Division Accident

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Spokane man was critically injured Thursday when he wrecked his car on the Division Street bridge.

James L. Wimmer, 34, received multiple leg fractures and internal injuries when he was thrown from his Jeep Wagoneer after smashing it into a concrete barrier, police said.

The crash occurred just after midnight on the south end of the bridge.

A passenger in the Jeep injured his head in the wreck. Police did not release the 34-year-old man’s name.

Officers said Wimmer had been drinking and wasn’t wearing a seat belt. He likely will be charged with vehicular assault, police said.

Wimmer was listed in critical condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center late Thursday. His passenger was in stable condition, police said. , DataTimes
