Beauty Supply Store Is Robbed
An armed man held up a Spokane Valley beauty supply store Saturday evening, escaping with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.
The robber entered Sally’s Beauty Supply, 1405 N. Argonne, about 5:30 p.m. He walked directly to the rear of the store, where he pretended to examine a product.
When the customers who were in the store left, the man walked up to the clerk and told her “this is a holdup and wanted all the money,” said David Reagan, sheriff’s department spokesman.
No weapon was shown, but the man’s hand was in his right jacket pocket, and he indicated he had a gun, Reagan said.
The man took the money and ran east from the store around the corner of Godfather’s Pizza. Moments later, a small red car with a square trunk was seen leaving the area quickly to the south. It is not known if the car was involved, Reagan said.
The 22-year-old clerk was not injured.
The suspect was described as white, 40-45 years old, 6-feet tall and 225 pounds. He was wearing a red and black baseball cap, wraparound sunglasses, a blue waist-length jacket with yellow vertical stripes, blue jeans and tennis shoes. He had a beard and mustache that were graying, and short brown hair.
