Scam Using Make-A-Wish Name

From Staff And Wire Reports

The people at the Make-A-Wish Foundation is wishing someone wasn’t pulling a scam using their name.

A chain letter has been circulating among area businesses, asking people to send in their business cards. The letter claims a seriously ill boy hopes to earn a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records by receiving the most cards.

It’s just not true, said Judy Rogers, director of Spokane’s Make-A-Wish offices.

“I’m getting several phone calls a week,” Rogers said. Rogers wants the well-intentioned people to save the paper and postage.
