Disaster Recovery Center To Open At Geiger Field
State and federal officials are opening a disaster recovery center today at Geiger Field.
The center will provide help to Eastern Washington residents who suffered property damage in last month’s flooding.
Disaster recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Washington State Emergency Management Division will be on hand to answer questions from people who have already applied for disaster relief.
They also will help residents check on the status of their applications and make changes to their requests, among other things.
Experts also will offer advice on how to protect homes and businesses against weather-related problems.
The center will operate 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays; 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
To reach the center, take Exit 276 off Interstate 90; go left on Geiger Boulevard; turn right onto Electric Avenue and enter the Washington Air National Guard base. Signs will then direct you to the center.
Registration for disaster assistance is taken by phone. Call FEMA at (800) 462-9029 to report flood losses. The hearing impaired can call (800) 462-7585 for TTY access.
