Firefighters Plan Breakfast For Anglers

Pat Kondas Correspondent

The Medical Lake Firefighters Association will be holding its annual Fisherman’s Breakfast from midnight Saturday to noon Sunday.

The association expects to reel in about 1,700 people, lured by sausage, eggs, hash browns and pancakes, according to Medical Lake Fire Chief Cliff Denman.

The event also includes a raffle. This year’s raffle items include a 15-foot Coleman canoe, his-and-hers mountain bikes, and a camping equipment package.

The association’s tradition of holding the breakfast to mark the opening of fishing season goes back more than 30 years, said Denman. Proceeds go toward funding the association’s community activities, such as the annual Christmas toy and candy drives, sponsoring Future Farmers of America and 4-H kids at fairs and shows, and helping other community groups with their projects.

The breakfast will be at the Medical Lake City Hall and Fire Station, 124 S. LeFevre.

Tickets for the breakfast are $4.50.

Raffle tickets are $1.00.
