Visitors to two Yakima River recreation sites will be charged daily fees beginning May 15, the federal Bureau of Land Management announced last week.

The $2-per-vehicle daily fee at the Squaw Creek and Roza recreation sites will cover parking, boat launching, rafting, picnicking and other day uses, said Jim Fisher, BLM Wenatchee Resource Area Manager.

Frequent visitors to the Yakima Canyon BLM sites may purchase a $15 season pass.

The sites are popular put-in and take-out areas for Yakima River Canyon rafters.
