Canada Deports Seattle Slaying Suspect
A fugitive on the U.S. Marshal’s 15 most-wanted list was ordered deported from Canada at an immigration hearing Tuesday.
Scott Freeburg, 38, is wanted in Seattle in a 1994 homicide.
He told an immigration adjudicator he’s innocent of that allegation.
Freeburg claimed he’s wanted in the United States because of information he has on the Green River serial killer in Washington state.
He said the killer is a police officer and American authorities want to shut him up.
The Green River killer is believed responsible for the deaths and disappearances of 49 women in the early 1980s.
The killer was never caught.
Freeburg disappeared from a halfway house in Seattle in November 1994.
He is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of Trinidad Martinez, 27, of Seattle and with the attempted murder of Martinez’s wife. The slaying was believed to be drug-related.
