Trucks To Use Country Homes Blvd.
Five Mile Prairie farmers taking their grain to Mead silos have been stuck and stranded by North Side roadwork.
Spokane County Commissioners granted farmers temporary permission to roll their trucks on Country Homes Boulevard, a neighborhood arterial normally closed to truck traffic.
Dennis Scott, director of public works, said several roads, including the route off the north side of Five Mile Prairie and Francis Avenue, are blocked because of roadwork and sewer construction.
A one-time exemption was granted for 30 days.
Scott said he would send notices to Country Homes residents notifying them of the special permission granted the farmers.
