Comment Sought On Water System Plan

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is seeking public comment on plans to issue an operational certificate to Happy Valley Water System in Kootenai County.

If approved, Happy Valley Water System owner John Smick would be issued a certificate to provide service to a one-half square mile area three miles west of U.S. highway 95 on the north side of Hayden Avenue between Huetter and Meyers roads.

Smick would have permission to charge $27 per month plus 70 cents per 1,000 gallons in excess of 20,000 gallons per month, and charge a 1 percent per month late fee for accounts more than 30 days past due. Smick also could collect a $500 first-time connection fee.

To comment, write to the Commission Secretary, Idaho Public Utilities Commission, P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074, before Aug. 29. , DataTimes
