Bones In River Of Ancient Indians

Associated Press

Human bones found in the Snoqualmie River are the remains of at least 10 Native Americans and are more than 200 years old, the King County medical examiner’s office said Thursday.

The medical examiner believes the bones were placed in the river a few days before they were found on July 27, a statement from the Seattle-King County Public Health Department said.

“But who placed them there - and why - is still a mystery,” the statement said.

A forensic anthropologist determined the skeletal remains were from at least 10 Indians, including one juvenile.
