Compiled From Wire Services

Ashton White homered and drove in six runs as Mission Viejo, Calif., advanced to the championship game of the Little League World Series with a 12-1 victory over Bradenton, Fla.

Guadalupe, Mexico, beat Yokohama, Japan, 1-0 in the international bracket final to gain the other spot in Saturday’s championship game.

White, son of 1979 Heisman Trophy winner Charles White of Southern California, also was the winning pitcher and allowed just a double and single.

The Californians beat Pottsville, Pa., 3-0 in the afternoon in a qualifying game pushed back a day because of rain.

Mission Viejo, managed by former Wyoming coach and Pepperdine assistant Jim Gattis, became the 19th California team to reach the championship game in the series’ 51 years. Long Beach was the last California champion, beating Chiriqui, Panama, 3-2 in 1993.
