Kids Face Charges In Plot To Kill Teacher
Four fifth-graders face felony charges for trying to do what most youngsters only joke about: kill their teacher.
The teacher was not hurt, but police said that may have been only because another student overheard the group considering their options and turned them in. When they were questioned, one of them was found to be carrying a vial of potentially deadly, homemade poison. It was to have been placed in the teacher’s food.
Hampton police spokesman Jeff Walden said the four students include three boys and a girl. All are 11 years old, except for one of the boys who is 10.
Each of the children is charged with two felony counts: attempting to poison and conspiracy to commit a felony. They remain in their parents’ custody pending a hearing. Neither their names nor the name of the intended victim was released.
