Bethel Ame To Host Unity Celebration
The Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church will host the third annual Unity in the Community Celebration on Saturday.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Liberty Park, located along Interstate 90 in the 1500 and 1600 blocks of East Fourth Avenue.
The annual event brings together churches, local businesses and organizations to celebrate their similarities and differences.
The free community celebration will also include activities for all ages, with food, and music provided by KTSL’s Mike Barrow.

Hymn fest planned
Organist and composer Paul Manz will lead a hymn festival at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 24th and Grand Boulevard, Sunday at 8 and 9:30 a.m.
Manz, based in Minnesota, will perform on the church’s new 31-rank Zimmer pipe organ.
Church relocates into youth center
The Living Word Christian Center moved into its youth center at 2828 E. 33rd a month ago after the building it was leasing at 29th and Southeast Blvd. was torn down to make way for a new bank.
Sunday worship services are at 10:15 a.m.
Rummage sale planned in Cheney
The United Methodist Church of Cheney, 204 Fourth St., is busy gathering items for its rummage sale, scheduled for Sept. 3-5. Sale hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. next Wednesday and Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the final day.
