Freeman In Session; Valley Schools Start Wednesday
If this is Labor Day Weekend, it must be time for the start of school.
Central Valley, East Valley and West Valley schools classes all start Wednesday.
That’s not by coincidence, either.
“We’ve found that if we don’t all start the same day, we can have an enormous amount of confusion,” said Skip Bonuccelli, spokesman for Central Valley School District.
Only Freeman School District gets the jump on Labor Day, by starting Wednesday of this week. That’s to allow the rural district plenty of time for snow days.
Here are a few other details involving the start of school:
Lunch programs in Central Valley and East Valley have raised prices slightly. The increases range between 5 and 15 cents.
In Central Valley, elementary schools have raised the cost of lunch to $1.40. In CV’s secondary schools, lunches are $1.85.
In East Valley, lunch costs are $1.25 for elementary, $1.50 for middle schools and $1.60 for high schools.
West Valley kept its lunch prices the same as last year: $1.10 for grades one through five, and $1.40 for grades six through 12.
