The Labor Day holiday will affect some public services:
Spokane city and county public libraries are closed Monday.
There will be no mail delivery on Monday. However, post office box service will be provided at the Riverside and Liberty Park branches.
All other government offices, banks and liquor stores will be closed Monday.
Garbage collection in the metropolitan area will be one day late next week.
Spokane Transit Authority service will be on a holiday schedule Monday, with buses running from 8:45 a.m. to 7:20 p.m., when the last bus leaves downtown. All Valley routes will be shut down.
Local journalism is essential.
Give directly to The Spokesman-Review's Northwest Passages community forums series -- which helps to offset the costs of several reporter and editor positions at the newspaper -- by using the easy options below. Gifts processed in this system are not tax deductible, but are predominately used to help meet the local financial requirements needed to receive national matching-grant funds.
