Among other business at the 5 p.m. meeting, commissioners will decide whether to increase the public defender’s budget by $141,000 to cover the cost of twice defending Joseph Andrews against two counts of murder.

Spokane Hearing Examiner

City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls

At 9 a.m., the hearing examiner will consider a request from R & W Enterprises to rezone 3.16 acres to build a 92-unit motel and 120-seat restaurant at 4121 S. Cheney-Spokane Road.

At 10:30 a.m., the hearing examiner will consider a request from R & W Enterprises to build a car wash at 4017 S. Cheney-Spokane Road.

Spokane City Council

Tuesday, 3:30 a.m. council briefing, lower-level conference room

6 p.m. meeting

City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls

During the briefing, the council will consider a traffic mitigation agreement with developer Leif Sorenson, who is building the McCarrol East subdivision on Indian Trail Road. The agreement calls for Sorenson to pay $721 per single-family unit.

The hearing examiner will consider a proposed apartment complex and stores at the corner of 57th and Regal.
