3,000 Expected To Attend Northwest Mining Convention
Former Idaho Gov. Cecil Andrus will speak Tuesday at the 103rd annual meeting of the Northwest Mining Association.
The mining convention which begins today will continue through Friday at the DoubleTree Hotel-Spokane City Center and the Spokane Convention Center & Agricultural Trade Center. More than 3,000 participants are expected.
Andrus will address the convention Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the convention center theater.
Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, will discuss mining law reform, federal land management practices and the Coeur d’Alene Basin cleanup in a luncheon talk Wednesday at the DoubleTree.
Miners will reveal their literary sides in the fourth annual Prospector’s Poetry session Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree.
