Farrahkan’s Trip To Iraq ‘Unhelpful’

Washington Post

U.N. Ambassador Bill Richardson said Sunday that Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan’s planned trip to Iraq as part of a 50-nation World Friendship Tour “would be unhelpful at this time.”

Farrakhan plans to leave today on a tour that includes stops in Iran, Iraq, China, North Korea and Cuba.

Asked about Richardson’s comments, Farrakhan said: “Well, poor Bill Richardson, he’s the U.N. ambassador and the State Department has a policy that he can’t shake the hands” of ambassadors from Cuba, Iraq, Sudan and other countries.

“What kind of foolishness is this?” Farrakhan asked.
