Redmond Rejoins Hecla’s Board

From Staff And Wire Reports

Paul Redmond has rejoined the Hecla Mining Co. board of directors.

Redmond, chairman of Washington Water Power Co., served on the Hecla board from 1988 to 1994. He resigned to devote more attention to the then-pending merger between WWP and Sierra Pacific Resources that subsequently fell through.

An engineer by profession, Redmond also serves on the boards of Itron Inc. and U.S. Bancorp.

“Paul Redmond is recognized as one of the most effective executives in the Northwest,” said Hecla Chairman Arthur Brown. “We are pleased to welcome him back.”

Spokane-based WWP provides electricity and natural gas to customers in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

Hecla, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, produces silver, gold and industrial minerals in Mexico and the U.S., particularly at its Lucky Friday mine at Mullan, Idaho.
