Rockwood Council Meeting Tonight

The Rockwood Neighborhood Council will meet tonight at Hutton School to talk about issues important to people living in the area.

The meeting is at 7 p.m.

The neighborhood council was officially recognized by the City Council in October.

Ten residents were elected as officers.

They are Laurel Siddoway, chair; Sanford Gerber, vice chair; Nancy Brown, secretary, and Jeff Watts, treasurer. Board members are James Hughes, Mary Kulish, Harry Bray, Mike Lenski, Nick Tanner and Nancy Wickre.

The neighborhood boundaries are 12th Avenue, Southeast Boulevard, 29th Avenue and Grand Boulevard.

Two major issues in the neighborhood are traffic and historic preservation. The Rockwood National Historic District was recognized by the U.S. Department of the Interior earlier this year.
