Lakeside Opens With Win Over Mead

The two hottest teams from summer league opened their winter schedule Friday, with Lakeside providing a different outcome.

Nikki Petticrew and Linsey Heebink hit a pair of 3-pointers and the visiting Eagles from Nine Mile had seven offensive rebounds in the first quarter while defeating Mead 48-35 in a non-leaguer.

Mead had 16 first-half turnovers and shot 27 percent from the field.

Mead’s Morgan Bennett hit three 3’s.
