Boundary Review Board

Monday, 3 p.m., Spokane County Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway.

The board will host a hearing about the proposed extension of city sewers to 40.5 acres outside city limits. Also, the board will consider proposals to expand the boundaries of the Spokane Valley Fire Department, Whitworth Water District and Consolidation Irrigation District.

Spokane City Council

Monday, 3:30 p.m. council briefing, lower-level conference room.

6 p.m. regular meeting.

City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls.

The council plans to adopt the city’s proposed 1998 spending plan, consider salary increases for top managers and decide the future of the Lincoln Street bridge project.

Spokane County Commissioners

Tuesday, 9 a.m. briefing, county courthouse, 1116 W. Broadway.

2 p.m. weekly hearings, public works building.

Among other business at the hearing, commissioners will consider adding Mount St. Michael to the county’s list of historic buildings.

Spokane County Commissioner Kate McCaslin

Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., Rockford Town Hall, 20 W. Emma Street.

The fourth in a series of meetings McCaslin has conducted this year to discuss topics related to county business.

Spokane city and county planning commissions

Tuesday, 7 p.m., Moran Prairie Grange, corner 61st Avenue and Palouse Highway.

The commissions will meet with members of the Moran Prairie Neighborhood Association regarding growth and land-use issues affecting Moran Prairie.

Spokane County Hearing Examiner

Wednesday, 9 a.m., public works building.

Hearing Examiner Mike Dempsey will consider a request to allow mining on 66 acres now zoned for farming. The land is along Spangle-Waverly Road in southern Spokane County.

Spokane City Plan Commission

Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. regular meeting, planning conference room.

City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls.

The commission plans to hear an update from Spokane Horizons. Commission members also plan to talk with representatives from the Community Assembly and neighborhood councils about having their meetings during evening hours.

Spokane Design Review Committee

Wednesday, 3 p.m. regular meeting, lower-level conference room.

City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls.

The committee will hear a report from parks officials about the proposed street tree ordinance.

Glenrose and Central Park neighborhood meeting

Wednesday, 7-9 p.m., Chase Middle School, 4747 E. 37th

Spokane County public works department staff will meet with residents to explain steps the staff proposes for controlling floods in the neighborhoods.
