Amber Hall’s broken ankle kept her out of Washington’s loss to Vanderbilt last season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Hall made up for lost time in a rematch on Saturday night, scoring 19 points, including 9 for 9 from the free-throw line, and grabbing six of her nine offensive rebounds in the second half as the No. 24 Huskies beat No. 5 Vanderbilt 82-71 in Seattle.

“I think Vanderbilt knows who Amber Hall is now,” UW coach June Daugherty said. “Nine offensive rebounds is a career for some people - I know it was for me.”

Jamie Redd scored 26 points for Washington, including six points and an assist during the Huskies’ decisive 12-0 run in the second half. Redd shot 11 of 12 from the freethrow line.

Megan Franza added 18 for Washington (5-0). Hall and Gena Pelz both had 13 rebounds.

Na’Sheema Hillmon scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Vanderbilt (5-1). Beth Ostendorf scored 16 points and Lisa Ostrom added 14. Ashley Smith handed out 13 assists.

Washington trailed 67-66 with 4:28 left when Redd started the decisive run with two free throws. Hall hit a free throw with 1:29 left to close the run with a 78-67 lead.
