Hiker ‘Just Fine’ After Spending Night Lost

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 15-year-old hiker was found safe Sunday morning after spending the night in subfreezing temperatures lost in the woods in the Rattlesnake Creek area.

King County Police spokeswoman Joanne Elledge said a searcher was on a trail along the creek around 7:30 a.m. when the teen appeared and said, “Here I am.”

Elledge said the boy was “just fine.”

The teen had been hiking with his father on Saturday when the two became separated.

Temperatures in the area dipped below freezing overnight.
