Needy Kids Shop With Cops

Associated Press

More than 100 underprivileged children were treated to a $50 shopping spree through Kmart’s Shop with a Cop program.

Kmart workers and employees of local law enforcement agencies raised money all year to help the needy children buy Christmas gifts.

The names of the children who participate are collected from local agencies that help the needy.

The children were taken to Kmart by police vehicles and a National Guard tank. Officers there took their assigned child shopping, and volunteers wrapped the gifts.
