Nader Seeks Changes In Phone Billing
Consumer advocate Ralph Nader urged AT&T, MCI and Sprint on Monday to charge by the second, rather than the minute, arguing that the long-distance companies are overbilling customers by billions of dollars a year.
Nader encouraged them to follow the lead of LCI International Inc., the nation’s sixth-largest long-distance company. Most U.S. long-distance companies round residential calls to the next full minute.
