District 81 Logging On To Web Project From Apple Computer

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane School District 81 is one of 15 agencies nationwide invited to participate in an Internet project sponsored by Apple Computer.

The program will increase use of the Internet as a learning tool for teachers and students in grades kindergarten through 12.

District 81 was chosen because of a program it is already using, called “Increasing Classroom Access to Technology,” according to Terren Roloff, District 81 spokeswoman. Last year, 260 Spokane teachers worked on that program, which posts study units involving technology on the Internet.

Other participants in the Apple program are Penn State University, the University of Georgia and the Ohio Department of Education. , DataTimes
