West Valley crossed the border line Tuesday, then went to the line to cross off its first Border League basketball opponent.

Eric Deno made 8 of 9 free throws in the fourth quarter, when the Eagles (1-2, 1-0) hit 15 of 19 to hold off host Lewiston (3-1, 0-1) 65-61.
