Lewiston Man Faces 18-Count Complaint
A Lewiston man has been charged with participating in a $1.3 million securities fraud scheme.
An 18-count criminal complaint filed against Joseph O. Mader, 35, by the state attorney general’s office alleges he defrauded as many as 22 elderly people during a five-year period.
Mader is charged with racketeering, selling unregistered securities and forgery. Second District Magistrate Carl Kerrick set bail at $100,000.
The victims, residents of Nez Perce, Latah and Clearwater counties, lost an estimated $1.3 million.
